DONALDSON ENGINE PRODUCTS CELEBRATES 15 YEARS OF ULTRA-WEB NANOFIBER FILTRATION TECHNOLOGY
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – January 13, 2009 – Donaldson Company (NYSE:DCI), a leading, worldwide manufacturer of filtration systems and parts, is pleased to recognize a 15-year milestone for the introduction of Donaldson Ultra-Web® Nanofiber Filtration Technology into its Engine Products. Launched in the Engine Aftermarket in December 1993, Ultra-Web Technology revolutionized air filtration for on- and off-road vehicles and equipment by providing high efficiency filtration and extended filter life while reducing operator maintenance costs.
Donaldson Ultra-Web Technology causes submicron particles to load on the media surface rather than disperse throughout the depth of the filter. The smaller, interfiber spaces of Ultra-Web provide higher efficiency and capture more contaminants.

Backed by over 80 issued and pending patents, Ultra-Web is the foundation of many other Donaldson filtration technologies, including:
- Donaldson Endurance™ Air Filters: In highway applications, where the contaminant is primarily submicron in size, Donaldson Endurance air filters will go twice the distance as conventional cellulose filters.
- High-Efficiency SRG and SSG Air Filters for Mining: In mining haul truck applications, where there is a high concentration of both dust and soot contaminant, Donaldson manufactures air filters to extend maintenance cycles.
- PowerCore® and PowerCore® G2 Filtration Technologies: Using patented Ultra-Web technology, PowerCore filters are up to 10 times more efficient and are more compact than standard, pleated cellulose filters.
- Pulse Jet Air Cleaners (PJAC™): PJAC is the self-cleaning filtration system for the M1 Abrams tank, which operates in the most critical and demanding environmental conditions.
