Where mist from manufacturing processes is a recognised problem in the workplace there is a safe and totally effective answer for its elimination, with the advanced range of Dryflo® mist collectors from Donaldson’s Industrial Filtration Solutions.
Not only does uncollected mist leave condensation and residue throughout the manufacturing facility, but also it creates a potentially unsafe working environment with the relevant health and safety issues.
Dedicated systems for the removal of coolant and machining oil mist, Donaldson Dryflo units are available in two distinct models: machine mountable and standard. The compact machine mountable versions are self-contained and fit directly onto machining centres without the requirement of ductwork. Standard models are standalone, available in a range of sizes and can service a number of machining centres or manufacturing processes.
Combining cost-effective, high performance technology with easy, predictable maintenance in an extensive range of configurations, the units enhance a cleaner, more pleasant working environment, significantly reducing the risk of mist-related hazards, while lowering plant maintenance costs.
Dryflo collectors efficiently capture oil and vapour mists and the proprietary filter cartridge technology significantly outperforms precipitators as well as collectors using HVAC envelope and cassette filters.
The secret of the Dryflo process is multi-stage filtration with high-efficiency media. Donaldson is at the leading edge of filter design and development technology.
Independent tests carried out on Dryflo filter cartridges show that the highly efficient mist filter actually increases efficiency over time when collecting soluble oil or synthetic fluids. The filtration efficiency of 99.8% (as per NF X44-060, by independent laboratory CETIAT – France) is industry leading.
In operation, mist enters via a first stage filter that is adjustable depending on the application type. It then encounters a special outer wrap that allows the filter cartridge to drain and prevent the collected liquid from entering the clean airstream. The third stage uses gravity to aid self-draining of the liquid through the vertically positioned filter. An optional fourth stage includes a high efficiency HEPA filter with the added capability of collecting smoke from machining operations and filtering it out of the atmosphere. On completion of the filtration process the unit returns clean air to the workplace making for a safer, cleaner environment.
Maintenance is quick and easy, with a differential pressure gauge clearly indicating when a filter exchange is necessary eliminating any uncertainty. A unique quick release filter retention system requires no tools, minimises contact with collected oil and facilitates quick filter exchange.
